When Does the Litter-Robot Go on Sale? What Black Friday Saves

Whisker’s Black Friday discounts land mostly on bundles. The clearest case is December 2025, when 9to5Toys listed the bare EVO and both Litter-Robot 5 models with “No price cut” while their Insights bundles came down $152 [s1].

For the Litter-Robot 4, the best reported Whisker price we found is the three-year warranty bundle at $699 in December 2025 [s1]. That is the machine’s list price on its own [s2]. The warranty rode along for free, and Whisker sells it separately for $129 [s3].

A Costco member whose warehouse has stock can get a similar result in September. The Costco bundle is $699.99 with the warranty and more accessories [s8].

The 2024 sale took $80 off every bundle and $100 off select ones. The two-robot Double Bundle came down $200 [s4]. Floppycats, an owner site running since 2008, lists that year as “$100 Off Litter-Robot 4 Models” [s4]. None of the 2024 or 2025 reports we found gives a sale price for a bare Litter-Robot 4.

In late September 2026, Whisker’s sale page listed $75 off select bundles [s7]. The Litter-Robot 4 Insights bundle sat at $907 against a $982 regular price [s2]. In December 2025 the Litter-Robot 4 Insights bundle sold for $799 [s1].

What a bundle discount is worth

The warranty bundle is the cleanest measure of a sale, because it holds a single thing besides the robot.

WhiskerCare’s three-year extension costs $129 for the Litter-Robot 4 [s3]. The EVO’s costs $99, and the Litter-Robot 5’s $149 [s3]. Bought with the Litter-Robot 4 today, the pair is $828 [s2]. In December 2025 it was $699 [s1].

The newer machines followed a different pattern that December. Their warranty bundles were listed with no price cut, and the $152 came off the Insights bundle [s1]. The EVO Insights bundle, at $699, cost the same as the EVO warranty bundle and added a litter mat, 25 waste drawer liners and a year of Whisker+ [s1].

Costco gets there without waiting

Costco item 1292242 is a Litter-Robot 4 bundle at $699.99, down from $759.99 [s8]. It carries the three-year warranty, plus a ramp, a litter mat, odor cartridges and 25 liners [s8]. That is 99 cents above last December’s best Whisker price, with more in the carton.

The price held at $699.99 for the 60 days to 25 September 2026. That day 63 of 592 tracked warehouses had some stock, and only 13 were marked fully in stock [s8].

A purchase outside Whisker’s stores drops the 90-day home trial, which covers Whisker’s own storefronts only, and returns go through the retailer instead [s9]. Paying with HSA or FSA money

Whisker accepts HSA and FSA funds on its own site through a partner called Flex. At checkout you complete a short telehealth consultation, and a provider reviews it for a Letter of Medical Necessity within 24 hours [s10]. Whisker covers the $10 consultation [s10].

The qualifying conditions Whisker lists include arthritis, chronic back pain, pregnancy, asthma and allergies [s10]. Its disclaimer reads in full: “Eligibility is determined per customer through Flex; not all customers qualify, and FSA eligibility may vary by employer plan” [s10].

Money in an HSA or FSA went in before income tax [s11]. At a 22% bracket, $699 of it is worth roughly what $545 of take-home pay is. The letter supports a claim without guaranteeing it, so keep it with your records and check with your plan administrator. HSA money spent on something that does not qualify is taxed as income and may carry an additional 20% tax [s11].

FSAs are “generally use-it-or-lose-it plans”, so money left at the end of the plan year is forfeited unless the plan allows a grace period or carryover [s11]. On a calendar-year plan, that deadline falls about a month after Black Friday.

Reconditioned, when there is stock

Retailer promo codes

The deepest cut on a bare Litter-Robot 4 we found came in January. In late January 2024 a PetSmart code, SAVE20, took the new unit to $559.99 from $699.99 [s13]. A retailer purchase gives up the Whisker trial and needs the same warranty activation [s3][s9].

When to buy

Wait for November if you want a Whisker bundle with the warranty in it. The 2024 bundle prices were reported on 1 November, and the deepest 2025 ones were still listed on 12 December [s1][s5].

Waiting carries a stock risk on the Litter-Robot 4. 9to5Toys lists it among Whisker’s legacy models, its reconditioned units are sold out, and most Costco warehouses had none on 25 September [s1][s8][s12]. A Costco member with stock nearby is already at last December’s best price. For a buyer who wants the machine alone, we found no reported Whisker sale on the bare Litter-Robot 4 in 2024 or 2025.
